6 hour Delay

Well as most of you know by now Megan is back in Canada and I am stuck here in Severn Beach. Ok it’s not all that bad really as we do have a great flat with a great view. Before Megan left we did have 2 great days as I took the Wednesday and the Thursday off work. On the Wednesday we went to a place just north of Cardiff called Castle Coch. It is a amazing castle as you feel as though you are stepping into a fairy tale. It would make a great place to film a real life version of Shrek. Check out the pics below.

Following the castle we drove to back to England and went to one of our favorite places called Wells to hang out in the town for a while. By the time we got home it was pretty late so we just crashed watching a movie as we had an early rise the next morning.

We got up bright and early to make the drive to Heathrow (about 2 hours away) only to get there to find out that Megan's flight was delayed by 6 hours. This is not the first time Megan has had bad luck with flights. In fact it seems she has almost never being on a plane without it being delayed at some point. Anyways rather than spending the day sitting at the airport we drove to a place just outside London called Windsor. You may have heard of it. It is famous for Windsor Castle which is one of the large inhabited castles in the world. It is about 13 acres in size and has being the home of the royal family for 900 years. Well it sounds great but Megan and I did not go inside it. We decided it was so big it would need a full day to look around. Well that and it costs £13.50 each to get in. We will be going down there for a day trip once she returns. So instead, we spent the afternoon walking around the city which is one of the most beautiful cities we have been to in England so far. The town is full of tiny little streets where people are sitting outside at tables in the middle of the streets drinking wine and people wondering around looking at all the small shops. Then at the bottom of the town is the Thames River so we walked along the path for a while before it was time to back to the airport.

Well Megan went through security and I made my way back to Bristol to find out that her flight was delayed even more. She eventually made it back to Canada late Thursday night after a very long day. She is in Canada until the end of August so I am sure most of you will end up seeing her at some point.

A small update

Well not a lot has really been happening lately hence the lack of blog updates. I did however go to pick up the new car last weekend in Cardiff. I took the train over from Bristol which only cost me £8. The downside was I was stuck with about 40 people on their way to a Jehovah’s Witness conference. So I was handed a lot of pamphlets but after talking to me they soon got the point and went off. Anyways the car is great. It needs some minor work but we are fixing it up as we go. We have been going on a few drives in the small narrow country roads but I keep forgetting to take my camera. We ended up in some strange place today near a nuclear power plant. We drove right in past the sign that read "now entering a nuclear site". Sort of amusing in a way. Next time I will take my camera.

In other news Megan is heading home to Canada for a month on July 20th. I will not be joining her unfortunately as I have to work and I could only come back for 5 days with the time off I have left. It seems like a lot of money for me to spend at the moment to come back for such a short time. I will however be back over the Christmas break. Megan will be around until late August so I am sure she will end up seeing you all.
