Ely Cathedral

Well its being a while since my last post yet again but there was nothing really that new to write about. Now that Megan and I are back in England I am going to try and update the blog once or twice a week at least over the next few months. Are plans are to look for jobs this week and then take a trip over to Sicily and Malta in the middle of March. Following that we have no idea. We do have a few people coming to visit us which we are looking forward to. Ryan Chin is coming over to join us on our trip in March, Mike and Andrea are going to stay with us for a few days before their Contiki tour starts and Kelly and Shelly are planning on stopping in with us for a while before they head off to Greece. Having them over will be a lot of fun and nice to have some familiar faces around.

Since we are going to be working for the next month or two we will be doing a lot of day trips around England to castles, manor houses, churches, etc... Today was our first "outing" if you will since we have been back in England. We drove north for about and hour until we got to the small town of Ely. When you are about 10min away all you can see is this monstrous cathedral sticking out of the centre of this small town. We parked the car (for free which is rare in England) and walked up the high street to get to the cathedral. Inside it is absolutely stunning. The work on this cathedral started in the 11th century and it has undergone many renovations over the last few centuries. Check out the photos below and let me know what you think.

Hi,

Phil - you always complain that I never post on your blog - so here you go. I'm the first.

I'm very jealous. Ely is one of my definite faves. Was the little market going in the centre of town?

Not much new here - Mum's doing well. We went out for fish and chips last night with her. I've got a few more interviews - will let you know how they go.

There were loads of ice fishers out on the lake up near Brad's which was quite cool to see. Apparently there's a big ice fishing festival there next weekend with thousands of them on the ice - brave in this weather.

Other than that, the usual Milton excitement.

Take care.
