Our 3rd Visitor

Well if you read my previous post you will remember me mentioning that my friend Mike Chan who I worked with at UMA came to stay with us for the weekend. He is doing a Contiki tour with his girlfriend Andrea who unfortunately wasn't able to come until the Tuesday and we missed out on seeing her. Megan and I drove from Devon to London to pick up Mike from Heathrow airport on a sat night. We were waiting for about 5 min before he appeared carrying a lot less baggage than I thought he would have. We took him back to Essex (Mike just remember you were in Essex before Megs and me that trip...lol) to my grandmothers place for pizza and wine. When we were both pretty drunk we played some good old gamecube until 1:30 or so and went to bed.

The following morning we went into London seeing all the great sites one wants to see in London. St. Pauls cathedra, south embankment, London eye, Westminster, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham palace, Tower of London, and tower bridge. Oh and of course a place called Acton for a singing audition for Megan. Pretty sketchy place I would say but a great studio. The day was long and we were all really tired by the end of it. Mike and I took a ton of photos as we were in London for about 12 hours or so. Mike gave me a lot of tips on taking photos at night and lets say we made the most of it. Poor Megan couldn't believe there was someone out there that took more photos than me.

By the time we got back to Essex we were all tired. But before going to bed we looked through the 400 pictures we took combined (250 were Mike's). The next morning we went back into London where Mike treated us to a great meal in Leicester Square at a place called Garfunkel’s. Mike had his first taste of real English bangers and mash. I don't think he was disappointed. Before the meal we stopped off at the hotel Mike was going to stay at the night with the Contiki tour and he checked in while Megan and I cruised through all the possible tours. Next we made our way down to the Tower of London again hoping to go inside but it was only open for another hour and it was a £15 entrance fee. Forget that. I knew London was expensive but jeez..£15.

After enjoying a ice cream under tower bridge it was time for us to say goodbye as Mike had to go to his Contiki meeting and Megan and I had to yet again drive to Bristol as work comes to early in the morning. It was a great weekend and it was great to have Mike down for the weekend. Next time Andrea you have to come and stay with us. Make it 2 weeks or so and we will head over to Belgium or something. Have a great trip and I can't wait to hear all about it. For those of you who want to follow along with Mikes Eurotrip check out his blog here or check the links section.

Below are a bunch of pics from our weekend in London. Cheers.

Nice photos, man. I think that bottom one of Tower Bridge has been taken about a million times by the two of us. Same old tourist routine though, eh? Next time I'm there I gotta do a guided bus tour so I can learn something new. Oh, and we gotta go in Westminster Abbey. Glad you guys had a good time!

Yeano matter how many times I go to London I always end up at Tower Bridge at night. I still can't get over how amazing it is. And of course I have to take photos everytime. I must have 30 or 40 shots of tower bridge at night alone.
